Success Story: Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) program
Program Overview:
Recently, the United States Army Reserve launched a program aimed at providing across-the-board support to the Families of Fallen Soldiers. The Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) Program is designed to honor the military's commitment to the Soldier by ensuring their families remain connected with their respective branch and feels supported by the community-at-large.
DoverManagement Response:
In light of the difficult circumstances, the DoverManagement team understands the unique needs and sensitivities required to assist the affected Families. As acting project manager, DoverManagement leads a federal, multi-agency task force in a comprehensive approach providing families with grief and military benefits counseling, employment assistance as well as access to financial planning. Families also receive access to legal assistance, web links to military resources and education about helpful community programs.
DoverManagement Results:
The DoverManagement team assisted over 500 families through efforts of the SOS Program. Families have shared that they felt more connected and supported by the Army Reserve and surrounding community, which is the primary goal of the program. The participating government agencies were thankful for the professional and streamlined execution
